G20 Latin American and Caribbean countries - Argentina, Brazil and Mexico - sign the Declaration of Brasilia on the Social Protection Floor

On May 10, 2011, in Brasilia, representatives from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico agreed, at the G20 consultative meeting organized by the governments of Brazil and France with support from the ILO, to coordinate their positions in the G20 process and to promote:

  1. the development of better social protection coverage;
  2. cooperation between international organizations and countries to facilitate the construction of sustainable national social protection systems;
  3. ILO support for countries to monitor the implementation of social protection floors;
  4. greater cooperation and exchange of knowledge on social protection and increased support for low-income countries to implement social protection policies.
