Aged need more social security, VietNam

Vietnam’s 2009 elderly  (above 60 years old) population (8.7%) has increased in 2010 to 9.4%, above predicted numbers, and now expected to reach 10.1% this year.  Although it is perceived as an improvement of quality of life, the country is not prepared to deal with the arising challenges it faces. Acknowledgment of the role of policies on this aging population is put forth.
