South-South Learning Forum to take place in Rio de Janeiro 17-21 March 2014

The 5th South-South Learning Forum, organized by the World Bank in partnership with the Government of Brazil and the State of Rio de Janeiro, will take place between 17 and 21 March 2014. This year’s Forum will focus on understanding how to design and implement sustainable and inclusive social protection and labour (SPL) systems in challenging economic and demographic contexts. Special emphasis will be placed on service delivery instruments, enrolment and transaction processes and monitoring and information systems.

The Forum aims at promoting knowledge among practitioners from low- and middle-income countries and fragile states on ways to improve SPL systems at the policy, programme and service delivery levels. Around 200 practitioners, experts, civil society members and donors are expected to participate by sharing their experiences in developing successful SPL systems.
