India: AP government unveils universal health scheme

The AP government on Sunday introduced Arogya Raksha, a universal health scheme for the benefit of the Above Poverty Line people, aiming to ensure health insurance to every individual up to Rs 2 lakh per annum. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the scheme at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on Sunday on the occasion of the new year, saying this is the first of its kind health security initiative in India.
