2012 as year of voluntary insurance for all in Burkina Faso
The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) in Burkina Faso intends to make the year 2012 a year of voluntary insurance for all. In this context, the CNSS has launched an awareness campaign for voluntary insurance in the central region of the country, in which 65% of workers are engaged in the informal sector. The aim of this campaign is to draw attention to the benefits of old-age insurance among Burkina Faso citizens, and to make them know that any worker can register to the CNSS contributions according to his/her monthly income in order to receive a pension after 15 contribution years.
