SPF WORKSHOP IN SOLOMON ISLANDS
A workshop on Social Protection Floor was conducted in Honiara, Solomon Islands, on 11-12 February 2012.
The workshop discussed social protection concepts, the social protection floor (SPF) initiative as well as the relevance and urgency of developing the social protection floor in Solomon Islands. The workshop was also an oportunity for participants to analyses the existing social protection provisions in Solomon Islands, identify policy gaps and implementation issues, and come up with key recommendations frfor the extension of social protection in Solomon Islands. One session of the workshop was allocated to discuss the review of the workers compensation scheme in Solomon Islands.
