Summary (English)

Yasiru Mutual Provident Society is the micro-insurance wing of the All Ceylon Community Development Council, an NGO registered in 1993 that is working on social mobilisation and organisation of the poor in various districts of Sri Lanka. Targeting the poorest segments of the population, Yasiru provides its insurance package via a network of partners and membership of the society now totals around 76,000. The product offered covers (for all individual members of a family) death, disability and hospitalisation. Yasiru has been supported by the Rabobank Group and its reinsurance company, N V Interpolis.
