The Pension Schemes manual looks at, and makes comparisons between, public and private pensions and methods of protection in public schemes. It examines old age, invalidity and survivor's benefits. This manual is of particular interest in countries considering transforming their existing provident fund scheme into one based on social insurance. A joint publication of the ILO and the International Social Security Association (ISSA).
