In September 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Social protection is a part of these objectives as a way to eradicate poverty. This website, developed by the Social Protection Department of the International Labour Organization (ILO), explains how the ILO and other United Nations agencies are already supporting goals 1.3, 5.4, and 10.4, and the establishment of comprehensive social protection systems across the world. As part of the Global Programme for social protection, this website is a platform to support these efforts through soliciting donations to support the development of social protection systems worldwide, encourage involvement in a business network, and create online buzz with posts, photos, and videos.
