Outcome summary

A learning and development strategy for social protection and a community of practice were launched

Outcome achieved

The government adopted a learning and development strategy for social protection through launching a community of practice (COP) on social protection to enhance knowledge and information exchange by social protection practitioners in September 2020. Process involved consultation with social partners

ILO's contribution to the outcome

Through a joint initiative with UNICEF, WFP and SDG Fund, ILO was a part of the Technical Working Group on the development of the Community of Practice and provided technical inputs in the development process (2019 to 2020). The capacity of the Kenya School of Government is being enhanced to institutionalize social protection trainings utilizing the TRANSFORM methodology.

Gender equality & non-discrimination

CPO deliverables linked to P&B output 8.1 include HIV and Disability responsive social protection to enhance the inclusion of these vulnerable groups in mainstream schemes and towards supporting maternity income protection.
