Outcome achieved
The Ethiopian Government endorsed in August 2017 the final Report of the Reform of Pension System in Ethiopia: actuarial, legal and public finance review and implications.
The Government also endorsed in March 2017 the Report on the Costing of non-contributory benefits in accordance with the National Social Protection Policy (NSPP) to extend adequate social protection to men and women in Ethiopia.
ILO's contribution to the outcome
In partnership with other UN Agencies in Ethiopia through the Joint Programme on Social Protection:
1. A list of Occupational Injuries for OHS Injury/Accidents Compensation were completed and compensation system adjusted accordingly.
2. The ILO provided technical assistance to complete the actuarial review of the Public Servant Social Security Agency (PSSSA) and the Private Organizations Employees Social Security Agency (POESSA.
