The National Social Protection Strategy 2021 - 2030 was approvedOutcome achieved
The National Social Protection Strategy (NSPS) 2021-2030 was approved by the Council of Ministers on 11 November 2021. It is guided by R.202. It has been developed in consultation with the social partners since 2016.ILO's contribution to the outcome
With funding from the Government of Portugal, ILO provided direct technical assistance and capacity building to the revision and completion of the NSPS. ILO supported the MSSI to organize an international seminar “General Basis of Social Protection: Future Perspectives and International Experiences” on 5th of August 2021. This seminar aimed to contribute to a better understanding about the general bases, principles, objectives, and structure of the social protection system in Timor-Leste. Key national and international decision-makers, leaders and officials participated at the international seminar.Gender equality & non-discrimination
The National Social Protection Strategy target different vulnerable groups, including women along their life cycle. Furthermore, one of the Priority Activities of the new National Social Protection Strategy involves the assessment of the impact of benefits on the most vulnerable groups (including women) and assess the adequacy of existing measures and opportunities to improve the social protection system efficiency.Partnerships
