Tripartite workshop on employment insurance parameters in Indonesia

As a follow up of National Conference on Unemployment Insurance on 3 March 2020, ILO re-invited some of the key stakeholders on the next day 4 March 2020, to discuss possible alternative schemes for Indonesia. The meeting was attended by around 40 representatives of tripartite stakeholders, including BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the Indonesian social security provider.

During the meeting, the participants were divided into 6 groups where each group consists of the representative from trade union, employer association, Ministry of Manpower, and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Each group was asked to discuss the detail mechanism of unemployment benefits including the target coverage, benefits, duration, exception, incentive, etc. The results of the discussion will be taken into considerations for policymakers when setting up the unemployment benefit scheme for Indonesia.
