Bangkok, Thailand, 9-13 February 2015

BUILDING CAPACITY ON PENSION TO IMPROVE ARTICULATION BETWEEN CONTRIBUTORY AND SOCIAL PENSION SCHEMES.

The executive course on pension trained experts in designing and implementing effective and comprehensive old-age pension systems with a strong emphasis on the extension of the pension benefits to the uncovered old-age population. It provided advanced knowledge and capacities for the analysis and redesign of current systems, based on a wide breadth of targeted examples, with the aim of improving understanding on the articulation between contributory and tax-funded pension necessary to achieve universal coverage. Participants were representatives of ministries and other government agencies, as well as representatives of workers’ and employers’ organizations, directly involved at the technical level in the planning, financing and management of measures to support the extension of universal pension systems in Asia and the Pacific.
