Summary (English)

The Maternity Protection Convention, 2000 (No.183) provides rules for the adoption of national legislation for the promotion of health and safety of the mother and child, notably concerning the protection for pregnancy, the right to a maternity leave period, maternity benefits, the right to return to the same position. By November 2008, 15 countries have ratified the Convention.
