Summary (English)

This study constitutes the Final Report on the Study on Social Protection (SP) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The report provides a reflection on the main findings of the study carried out in these countries and presents practical recommendations flowing from the investigation undertaken for purposes of this study.

The report is composed by three main chapters: the fiscal framework, namely fiscal costing and fiscal space; labour markets and sustainable livelihoods in SSA, with a reflection on social protection for sustainable livelihood options for the countries in the region and its key actors; and the extension of social protection to informal work. For each chapter the authors present the main conclusions and recommendations, besides the overall recommendations presented at the end of the document.
