Summary (English)

The Information Centre on Social Protection (CIPS) is a participative electronic platform that provides information on social protection in Portuguese. It is a joint iniative from the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), the ILO Lisbon Office and ILO/STEP Portugal Project.
CIPS responds to the social protection information needs of the Portuguese-speaking countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste) and makes avaiable information on the existing social protection realities of these countries.
The website is directed to the international community, national public and civil society stakeholders, as well as all those involved with, and interested in, social protection.

O Centro de Informação em Protecção Social (CIPS) é uma plataforma electrónica que oferece em língua portuguesa e de forma actualizada informações variadas sobre protecção social, buscando atender especialmente as necessidades dos países de língua portuguesa nesta área. A plataforma é uma iniciativa conjunta do Secretariado Executivo da CPLP (Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa), do Escritório da Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) em Lisboa e do Projeto STEP/ Portugal  do Bureau Internacional do Trabalho localizado em Genebra.

O site do CIPS oferece inúmeras utilidades para os seus usuários. Em termos de informação, são publicados de forma constante notícias e eventos relacionados ao tema, além de contar com uma secção sobre os sistemas de protecção social de cada país da CPLP e com páginas específicas sobre temáticas diversas. Quanto aos recursos, o CIPS provê uma Biblioteca com obras pertinentes à area da protecção social; um Glossário com mais de 100 entradas e conceitos; um Banco de Dado sobre programas de assistência social no mundo e um outro sobre peritos em protecção social ; entre outras ferramentas.
