Summary (English)

The Governing Body has placed a standard-setting item on the agenda of the 101st Session (2012) of the International Labour Conference (ILC) on social protection (social security), with a view to the elaboration of an autonomous Recommendation on the social protection floor (single discussion). In this context, this summary report provides information on the law and practice concerning the establishment of a social protection floor or elements thereof at national level, including an overview of the main developments and emerging trends worldwide. This report, accompanied by a questionnaire, was communicated to governments of the member States of the ILO which were invited to send their replies to the Office no later than 1st November 2011.
