Related International Labour Standards

Protection from employment injury has been the object of a number of Conventions and Recommendations adopted by the ILO from its early days. Specific stipulations concerning employment injury benefits are specified in the Social Security (Minimum Standards) Convention, 1952 (No. 102) (article 32) and the Employment Injury Benefits Convention, 1964 (No. 121). On top of these conventions, the ILO adopted OSH (Occupational Safety and Health)-related mandates such as the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention, 2006 (No. 187) and the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Recommendation, 2006 (No. 197) to lower the toll of work-related injuries and diseases.
