HIV and AIDS and the World of Work: a prevention and social protection perspective

From 13 to 24 October 2014, ILO International Training Centre, Turin, Italy.

This course is organized by the ILO International Training Centre in Turin, Italy. It is designed for officials of various institutions and ministries dealing with HIV and AIDS; representatives of workers' organizations; representatives of employers' organizations and NGOs.

At the end of the training, the participants will have increased knowledge and skills that will enable them:

• To appreciate the rights-based response to HIV and AIDS and develop/implement gender-responsive HIV and AIDS workplace polices at the national, sectoral and enterprise levels;
• To understand, adapt and apply approaches/successful models of HIV prevention in the world of work, covering formal and informal economies, communities, including public private partnerships and meaningful engagement of people living with HIV;
• To apply social protection approaches/models and understand their importance in contributing to prevent HIV and mitigate its impact on people living with or
affected by HIV.
