Outcome summary

A Universal Health Care programme was launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province

Outcome achieved

A Universal Health Care (UHC) programme launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province achieving coverage of 100% of the households in December 2020. In 2021, UHC is being replicated in Punjab Province, which will be followed by Baluchistan province in 2022.

ILO's contribution to the outcome

ILO has undertaken strong advocacy for Universal Social Protection since 2016-including through a national conference in November 2020. ILO undertook a technical actuarial study for the first phase of the Social Health Programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province(KP) in 2018-19 and was requested a similar study in 2021 for expanding this programme to Punjab.
