Outcome achieved
The Palestinian Authority (PA) has put in place a roadmap for a national social protection floor based on the ILO Social Protection Floor studies (expected by December 2019).
ILO's contribution to the outcome
With RBSA funds, the ILO has produced Social Protection Floor (SPF) studies including: a) social protection mapping and gaps assessment; b) an impact assessment of the proposed social protection scheme on poverty and vulnerability; c) fiscal space analysis with a view to finance the SPF; and d) a costing study, all of which guided the PA to develop a roadmap towards a national SPF. During the drafting process, several consultative meetings took place with government, and social partners, as well as with UN agencies in OPT.
Gender equality & non-discrimination
Gender equality and non-discrimination were integrated as subjects of focus in all discussions and studies.
