A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on South-South Triangular Cooperation was signed between the PSSC and the ILO (October 2017) to set up a capacity building programme.

Outcome achieved

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on South-South Triangular Cooperation was signed between the PSSC and the ILO (October 2017). The MoU includes a capacity building programme set up to strengthen the capacities of the tripartite constituents to serve as members of the Board of Directors. In addition, another MoU was signed between the SSC and PSSC, on 19 September 2017, for officially setting up a capacity building programme.

ILO's contribution to the outcome

The ILO provided capacity building to tripartite constituents, including: (a) Three capacity building workshops (20 participants) for the members of the Board of Directors on governance of the PSSC; (b) Capacity building workshops for the key management team of the PSSC on day-to-day management; and (c) Three study tours to social security institutions in Jordan, Algeria and Oman for the members of the Board of Directors and key managers of the new social security institution, as part of South-South Triangular Cooperation (SSTC). The study tour to Jordan took place in September 2017 (15 participants); the study tours to Algeria (13 participants) and to Oman (15 participants) were held between November and December 2017.
