On 16th December 2016 the Law No.290 on Amending and supplementing certain legislative acts was adopted by the Parliament, which aims to amend the pension law. The amendments include the change of the pension formula and the indexation method. ILO considers that there were not enough consultations with social partners in the legislative process.
ILO's contribution to the outcome
The ILO conducted technical consultations with the pension reform working group and the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family (MLSPF) and provided technical comments to the draft bill. Some of ILO recommendations were taken into account (such as designing transition measures, setting accrual rates of pension formula).
