Fiji: TO REPEAL THE WORKMEN’S COMPENSATION ACT 1964 AND FOR RELATED MATTERS

Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or any other written law, a payment of compensation by the Commission under the no fault compensation scheme is a bar to proceedings to recover damages or claim a contribution from the applicant or the person who suffers the injury or death for which the compensation was paid. Compensation payable under the provisions of this Act is not capable of being assigned, charged or attached, and no claim is to be set off against such compensation.
