Lecture on the function and role of the actuarial research unit of the Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare

Background
The Government of Indonesia aims to improve actuarial capacity by establishing an institution within relevant ministries. The Ministry of Finance is currently studying institutional set-up of different countries, namely function, capacity and authority of actuarial units. In this regard, the Ministry of Finance requested the ILO to organize a briefing session on the MHLW as well as how analysis and results are used for policy reforms.
