USP2030 Social Protection and Climate Change Working Group

Last year at COP26, the Social Protection and Climate Change Working Group was announced to bring together the dispersed knowledge, agenda-setting and capacities in social protection to actively support climate action, serving as a shared space for actors from the social protection and climate communities. This inter-agency effort aims to advance the integration of social protection and climate policy objectives and to help countries and partners to adapt national social protection systems to the challenges of climate change, including by increasing public and private investments in social protection. The Working Group is associated with two entities, the Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection and the Social Protection Inter-Agency Cooperation Board (SPIAC-B) to be heard by countries and international bodies responsible to take appropriate and coherent action at system and operational level.
