Summary (English)

The Global South South Development Expo opened its 2010 meeting at ILO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, with speeches from Mr. Yiping Zhou, Director of the Special Unit for South-South Cooperation (UNDP), Mr. Juan Somavia, ILO Director-General, Mr. Celso Amorim, Minister of External Relations of Brazil, Ms. Michelle Bachelet, UN Women Executive Director and Chair of the ILO/WHO Social Protection Advisory Group, and Mr. Marius Fransman, Deputy Minister of South Africa. This event, since its inception, has served as a vibrant platform for the South and the international development community to forge innovative and inclusive South-South and triangular partnerships to find solutions to common development issues.
