Summary (English)

Description
UpLift India Association (UIA) is a network of nine organizations involved in activities improving and strengthening the livelihood of the poor since the year 2000 in Pune, Mumbai and now extended to the Marathwada region and Kolkata. It was formally registered as a Section 25 Not for Profit Company in December 2004.
The target population belongs to the class of people who reside in slums and have an income of less than and equal to Rs 2500 per capita income (PCI) per month. UIA is assessing the poverty level through a Poverty Assessment tool.
The association has three programmes:
-An Income Generation Programme,
-A Community-Based Health Mutual Fund,
-A Family-Development Programme.
