Brazil : Strengthening resilience through an Innovative Income-led Strategy
Summary (English)
The present review shows concretely how the growth-cum-equity strategy was designed and implemented in Brazil. It also analyses the extent to which the strategy helped Brazil overcome the global financial and economic crisis which erupted in the aftermath of the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. Finally, the review identifies key pending challenges and formulates possible policy responses.

El presente estudio muestra precisamente cómo la estrategia crecimiento-igualdad se concibió y aplicó en el Brasil. También analiza el grado en que la estrategia ha ayudado al país a superar la crisis financiera y económica mundial que vio a luz tras la quiebra de Lehman Brothers en 2008. Por último, el estudio determina cuáles son los desafíos clave pendientes y formula posibles respuestas en materia de política.

Le présent rapport montre concrètement comment la stratégie croissance-plus-équité a été élaborée et mise en œuvre au Brésil. Il analyse aussi dans quelle mesure cette stratégie a aidé le Brésil à surmonter la crise financière et économique mondiale qui a éclaté suite à la faillite de Lehman Brothers en 2008. Enfin, le rapport identifie les principaux défis en cours et formule des réponses politiques possibles.
