Summary (English)

The document reviewes Uzbekistan’s social protection policy environment, programmes and governance in social protection at central and sub-national levels, the issues related to framing the new Social Protection Strategy and guiding principles for the Strategy. Along with this, the document covers steps and phases in preparing the National Strategy for Social Protection (NSSP), factors to consider in the design of the NSSP, and costing and fiscal space analysis for the NSSP.
