Summary (English)

This paper contains an estimate of the extent of exclusion from social protection in health in Latin America and the Caribbean. This estimate was obtained by using three complementary parameters: The level of coverage of the population by the social security systems, the existence of geographical, financial and cultural obstacles to access to health-care and the utilisation of health-care services. This document also presents the profiles of the main groups of excluded persons.
