It illustrates the variety of approaches taken to pensions by analysing the schemes of seven industrialized countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Italy, and Spain. It evaluates the role of social dialogue among the groups in reaching a consensus on viable pension reform.
