Summary (English)

This Report on the Basic Security Survey is divided into six parts. Chapter 2 addresses the socio-economic conditions across the region while Chapter 3 deals with human resources pressures, as seen through the eyes of health system analysts. Structural reforms are examined in Chapter 4 with special emphasis given to the impact of privatization. In Chapter 5 the report turns to the survey for evidence on the changes taking place as regards the seven security dimensions. The conclusions of Chapter 6 are followed by an annex summarizing the socio-economic conditions in the health sector for each of the countries that participated in the survey.
