The Employment Promotion and Protection against Unemployment Convention, 1988 (No.168) is a revision of the Unemployment Provision Convention of 1934. It provides standards in the field of employment and unemployment protection, notably for the promotion of full, productive and freely chosen employment, the principles of equality of treatment and non-discrimination, the methods of providing unemployment benefit. By November 2008, 7 countries have ratified the Convention.
