Improving social health protection for refugees
A series of country support missions and continuous on-site and off-site support will be carried out.
Description
Between September and November 2019, existing plans for the integration of refugees into social health protection schemes covering segments of the national population were reviewed in Burkina Faso, Cameroun and Rwanda. For those three countries, the main objective was to follow-up on the progress of the situation since the first assessments in 2017 / 2018. Plans for the integration of refugees had been developed by UNHCR and were in the course of execution. In Burkina Faso and Cameroon, plans need to be adjusted to the new policy development on social health protection. The early integration of the refugees within the design of such policy plans has been deemed crucial.
