Reform of the pension indexation led by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), consulted nationwide with stakeholders in July 2020 with a clear roadmap for reforms for promoting pension adequacy and sustainability of the pension system.ILO's contribution to the outcome
- ILO provided technical notes on principles and international practice for adjusting pensions. - A review of capacities and resources undertaken and recommendations provided to the Viet Nam Social Security (VSS). - Training on client satisfaction survey tools for VSS; coaching for rolling out national satisfaction survey; and capacity building on customer care skills for VSS Customer Care Centre. - Capacity building of Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) staff on health insurance and health-related social security benefits; Mass Awareness raising events to increase female factory workers awareness on their social health protection benefits organized; comprehensive and user friendly booklet on health related social security benefits and procedures prepared.Gender equality & non-discrimination
One of the objectives of the project is to build a social protection system that is gender-sensitive. One of the outcomes is an integrated gender-sensitive multi-tiered expansion strategy for accelerating SDG progress towards universal social protection coverage. A Gender Impact Assessment report on adapting social insurance to women's life courses was conducted, accordingly, the two policy briefs that recommend increasing adequacy and narrowing down gender gaps in coverage and benefits were published for policy advocacyPartnerships
ILO joined UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF in joint project: Accelerating Viet Nam's Transition Toward Inclusive and Integrated Social protection. The long-term impact of the UNJP�fs integrated approach could include, by 2030, having 100 per cent of the 20 million children in Vietnam benefiting from social protection. This would also represent an expansion from 30 per cent to 45 per cent of the workforce participating in social insurance. The ILO collaborated with other UN agencies in providing inputs on UN a...SDG
