ILO's contribution to the outcome
Provided technical assistance for the registration of 9,000 domestic workers into the trade union movement. Also facilitated their enrollment into the state Welfare Scheme for Domestic Workers, which includes benefits like pension, health coverage, children’s education, etc. Another 5,000 domestic workers are expected to be registered under the trade union and the welfare schemes by end of 2011. Also providing support to the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY - the National Health Insurance Programme) programme through the Microinsurance Innovation Facility.
