SPF success stories: sharing innovative experiences

 

 

"The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Special Unit for South-South Cooperation" invited nominations for initiatives with successful social protection floor experiences. And 2 cases of Thailand were selected : 

• The Universal Coverage Scheme (UCS)
• The Universal tax-financed 500 Baht pension scheme

The two consultants(Dr. Thaworn Sakunphanit for UCS, Dr. Worawet Suwanrada for 500 Baht pension) presented one consolidated paper of the two cases at the international workshop in Turin, Italy on 8-9 July 2010. 

SPF Joint Team has been involved in the writing process. ILO, UNFPA and WHO especially have contributed to the elaboration of the success story through G-Forum. The initial structure of the success story and time schedule for the submission of the first draft can be found from the minute of the meeting of 1 June, 2010.
