AFRICA REGIONAL INTER-AGENCY SOCIAL PROTECTION ASSESSMENT (ISPA) TOOLS TRAINING
Background
For over a decade, the extension of social protection has gained increased momentum in Africa. Social protection projects, programmes and activities have been developed aiming to ensure people are better protected throughout their life against risks affecting their livelihoods and their capacity to meet their income needs and access to health care. Initiatives implemented by both Governments and international organizations have proliferated so that countries are now faced by fragmentation, duplication and overlap on the one hand but still significant gaps on the other.
In light of growing demand by countries to receive support in applying the ISPA tools, this training is bringing together countries that have already experience in using ISPA tools and countries wanting to use them to facilitate exchanges on the added value of the tools, how to best apply them and lessons learnt.
