Disability-inclusive social protection

Towards inclusive social protection systems: supporting the full and effective participation of persons with disabilities

The project aims to support reforms towards inclusive social protection systems compliant with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) through collaboration across countries, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), development agencies and academia.

The project contributes to the evidence base on current practices and opportunities, produces practical guidance and training for the different stakeholders, provides technical advisory services to countries and raises awareness to make social protection systems more disability-inclusive.

This UNPRPD-funded initiative is implemented jointly by the ILO and UNICEF in close cooperation with the International Disability Alliance (IDA), following the endorsement of a joint statement in 2018.
